The final report of Moving Partnership On marks the culmination of a joint DTI funded project between the IPA and Unions 21. The project represents one of the most detailed practical assessments of partnership working undertaken to date.

Partnership working: a practitioner's guide

Based on a project supported by the IPA, EEF and USDAW the practitioner's guide is a detailed good practice guide designed to assist with the growing need to sustain established partnerships.

In 1996 the IPA set out in a programme of seminars to identify the concerns of companies grappling with the European Works Council Directive.

The findings of this report are based on research into the human resource strategies and practices in a group of UK internet based organisations.

The report offers guidance on how to put an effective consultative process in place, that not only complies with legislation, but brings real business benefits. The report includes an information and consultation "audit tool" and suggests how issues such as confidentiality, business focus, training and culture can be addressed.

The Partnership Company Project was launched by the IPA in 1997 to look at what partnership actually means in the workplace and to identify some benchmarks of good practice. The report, by Professor David Guest from Birkbeck College and Dr Riccardo Peccei of the London School of Economics, is based on an in-depth survey of over eighty of the UK's leading employers drawn from IPA members and supporters.

"Towards Industrial Partnership" sets out the IPA model of partnership. The IPA has carried out a series of case studies to look at good practice in organisations which are pursuing these principles of partnership. The Towards Industrial Partnership report explains each component of partnership and sets out the evidence of the application of partnership in the workplace.
