Our next IPA Employee Voice Hub meeting “Learning the Lessons of Covid” is taking place on Tuesday 31 January 2023 from 13:00 to 14:00.

Sarah Pass, Senior Lecturer on HR Management at Nottingham Trent University, will present findings from an NHS England case study during the COVID-19 pandemic and the rollout of the UK's vaccination programme. The case study highlighted how major crises have a tendency to reveal the underlying resilience of an organisation and its relationship with its employees. The research revealed key elements to successfully weathering such a crisis were a shared perspective, trust, and sense of purpose; highlighting their ability to break down internal barriers to collaboration and cultivating a cultural shift in power dynamics. By exploring 'lived experiences' of the pandemic, findings also highlighted the contextual nature of working from home during a pandemic, the overwhelming nature of organisational purpose, and the potential consequences of 'too much' meaningful work.

This meeting will present a great opportunity for people to share stories and experiences relating to this but also whether these findings are still understood and actioned now the threat of COVID has receded.
