IPA Employee Voice Hub: The Good Work Guide

October 21, 2026 | 1pm to 2pm

A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DELIVER BETTER WORKPLACES WITH GOOD WORK STANDARDS AND FAIR MANAGEMENT

Recent research by Manchester University and Queens University Belfast, together with wider evidence, has shown that small and consistent improvements in everyday people management can support more effective HR practices, safer operations, improved job quality and lower turnover. Researchers found that when employees feel respected, supported and involved, organisations are better placed to reduce errors, retain experienced staff, maintain safety and deliver a reliable service. Fair treatment, meaningful employee voice, adequate staffing, safe work and clear expectations can support better jobs and operations.

Professor Niall Cullinane and Dr Emma Hughes will share the findings of their research and introduce the toolkit they have developed which includes practical ways of improving work design, employee voice, skills and development, performance management, health and wellbeing, and employment relations. Its recommendations draw on evidence from the Involvement and Participation Association (IPA), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), wider academic research and fieldwork with warehouse employers and workers.

This event is free to attend – please book by clicking on the link below. Participants will receive a copy of the toolkit following the webinar.
