There is growing evidence of the importance of employee engagement in the NHS. Trusts with high levels of employee engagement tend to have higher levels of employee well being, as well as more satisfied patients and better clinical outcomes.

With the NHS facing significant challenges and substantial financial pressures, employee engagement is more important than ever.

This case study looks at the approach to employee engagement at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, an acute trust based in south west London. The trust has managed to increase employee engagement substantially in recent years. This case study examines the factors that account for their success in doing so.

The case study forms part of a major project looking at employee engagement in the NHS.
