Speak at events

Our experienced public speakers are available to address a wide range of events, from academic seminars and panel events to industry-wide conferences or internal corporate away days.

Our speakers

Nita Clarke OBE - IPA Director

“Will you please pass on to Nita my huge personal thanks for her outstanding contribution to our Development Event on Wednesday.  It was nothing short of magnificent. To hold the attention of so many people for an hour-and-a-half was in itself talent written large. The buzz that Nita created carried on and everyone valued and appreciated her presence with us.”

“Amazing presentation, engagement, knowledge and delivery, very useful information - most helpful”
"I wouldn’t want to start the week without another word of thank you for your invaluable contribution to our Annual Stakeholder Forum. Both your key note as well as interventions during the plenary debate helped a lot to make the overall event a great experience for all participants."

Lucy O'Melia, Head of Learning and Development

Lucy has more than a decade's experience developing partnership working across teams and organisations in often complex settings. She has worked with leaders from across sectors to take a systematic and participative approach to organisational improvement.

Recent conference speaking engagements include the CIPD Festival of Work on employee wellbeing and the IES Annual Conference on productivity.

  • Beyond rhetoric: what is really sustaining – or undermining – DEI in UK workplaces?

Beyond rhetoric: what is really sustaining – or undermining – DEI in UK workplaces?

Diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) has not disappeared from organisational agendas, but it is under pressure. It feels more fragile, more contested, and harder to sustain than it did a few years ago. Dr Meenakshi Krishnan, Principal Research Fellow at IES reflects on what is driving inclusion and fairness in organisations right now? How are current labour market challenges strengthening or complicating the case for DEI? And what would make DEI feel like core business?

  • What new sectoral bargaining could mean for pay and workforce stability

What new sectoral bargaining could mean for pay and workforce stability

Naomi Cooke, Head of Workforce at the Local Government Association, reflects on what the introduction of a new model of sectoral bargaining could mean for local government employers and beyond. The Employment Rights Act represents a real sea-change.  Two comparatively small provisions denote a significant shift in how pay, terms and conditions will be set, by establishing the first statutory collective pay bargaining mechanisms in England since wage councils were abolished in the 1990s.

  • IPA Employee Voice Survey

    IPA Employee Voice Survey

Strong employee voice helps organisations make better decisions, manage change more effectively and build trust at work. To understand how this works in practice, we asked employee representatives, forum and staff council chairs, and others involved in voice arrangements to share their experiences via an online survey.
